The problem is that one Magic Weapon rune (Deflection) and all Familiar runes benefit greatly from channeled spells because they proc 1.5 times as much. I think this is mainly an issue because any Wizard build that wants to output good DPS basically runs three pseudo-passives: a DPS armor (Shocking Armor - Power of the Storm, Energy Armor - Pinpoint Barrier), Magic Weapon (Force Weapon, Deflection), Familiar (Sparkflint, Cannoneer) All other concerns have since been fixed (mostly certain proc ratios and some unbalanced runes which are much harder to notice) but this is still in the game even though it's very easy to notice. I think it's intended because I mentioned this behaviour with exact numbers in one of my PTR/Beta feedback threads. The one mechanic that is somewhat imbalanced but probably intended is channeling spells (Electrocute, Ray of Frost, Disintegrate, Arcane Torrent, Archon beam) proccing the Familiar at 1.5 the frequency of other spells. Incrased attack speed increases the DPS of each of your skills and it doesn't do it any more for Familiar than it does for other abilities.
